One book is ‘Ermita’ by renowned Philippine National Artist for Literature F. Sionil Jose.
“On my bedside table for summer reads: diving into 'Ermita' by F. Sionil Jose, savoring my signed copy of 'Voyager and other fictions' by Butch Dalisay @penmanila, and perfecting my short game with 'The Four Foundations of Golf'. #LucLoves,” he tweeted on Friday, Aug. 11
‘Ermita’ was a story of a woman born illegitimately to a wealthy family, but suffered through the tumultuous years of the Japanese occupation up to the Marcos regime.
It was one of Jose’s most popular books.
On the other hand, ‘Voyager and other fictions’, is a collection of 43 short stories, such as ‘Penmanship’, ‘Oldtimer’, and ‘Voyager’.
In the stories, the characters face adolescence, disillusionment, and unrequited admiration.
Aside from sharing some of the books he is currently reading, Veron also loved updating his followers through his #MeriendaNiLuc series where he samples some popular and well-loved Filipino snacks.
