Woman arrested for smuggling shabu for detained BF

ILOILO CITY – A 36-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly smuggling shabu at the Iloilo City District Jail on Wednesday, August 9.

Police identified the suspect as Vivian Gustilo.

Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) jail guards found the contraband concealed in a bag of charcoal during a routine checking of belongings.

Six plastic straws with shabu and three separate sachets of shabu were seized from Gustilo.

Gustilo was visiting her boyfriend who was arrested by the police in an anti-drug operation in 2021.

She claimed that she did not know there were drugs in her possession and blamed her boyfriend’s friend who asked her to give the charcoal to him.

Gustilo was detained and turned over to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).

She is facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.
