USTP-CDO grad tops licensure exam for certified plant mechanics


A University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines-Cagayan de Oro (USTP-CDO) graduate secured the top spot in the licensure examination results for certified plant mechanics.

With an average of 89.70 percent, Richard Lituañas topped 104 out of 187 passers, based on the list of those who passed the certified plant mechanic's board examination released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Aug. 10.

In second and third place, respectively, were Paul Armand Miguel Pasicolan Saguid of the Technological University of the Philippines-Manila and Patrick John Marcaida from Bicol University-Legazpi. 

The examination took place in Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, and Zamboanga in August 2023. 

The said examination was facilitated by the Board of Mechanical Engineering headed by its chairman, Leandro A. Conti, and members Jerico T. Borja and Lorenzo P. Larion.

PRC said passers may register online for their Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration on Oct. 2 to 6, Oct. 9 to 13, and Oct. 16 to 17.

Passers can view the instructions for registration at prc.gov.ph.

Furthermore, the requirements for registration include a downloaded duly accomplished oath form or "Panunumpa ng Propesyonal," notice of admission, two pieces of passport-sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), two sets of documentary stamps, and a short brown envelope.

PRC said the date and venue of the certified plant mechanic inductees' oathtaking will be announced soon. (Sonny Daanoy)
