Stop bullying tactics and pay mutual respect to PH, Go urges China
Senator Christopher "Bong" Go has urged China to exercise mutual respect among nations and cease their bullying tactics towards the Philippines.

Go said it is important to pursue peaceful and diplomatic relations with all things related to the West Philippine Sea.
“I strongly condemn the recent harassment incident on our Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). That’s why I call on them to stop bullying us,” Go said in an interview on August 10, after assisting indigents in Alaminos City, Pangasinan.
Go stressed that the respect given by former president Rodrigo Duterte to China in the six years of his administration “is very high.”
"So, I hope you will also respect our country. It's not like just because we're a small country, you will just bully us," he added.
While the Filipinos are known for their fighting spirit, this matter is best addressed through proper diplomatic channels, Go insisted.
"The Senate can only express its sense on the matter. But President (Ferdinand) Marcos is still the chief architect of our foreign policy. He’s the only one who knows and who can resolve this in a peaceful manner,” stressed Go, who is also a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
The PCG has condemned the Chinese Coast Guard’s “illegal” and “dangerous” use of water cannon, highlighting that such act violated international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, and the 2016 Arbitral Award.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has also denounced the incident and called for prudence, responsibility, and cautioning against actions that could endanger lives.
