MTRCB summons 'E.A.T.' producers over Wally Bayola 'cursing' incident

Who dared deem "E.A.T." a sacred cow?

After continuous attack from netizens questioning their supposed non-action regarding the show's alleged numerous violations, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) on Friday finally issued notice to producers of the show.

No, it is not because of the supposed kissing incident involving former senator Tito Sotto and wife Helen Gamboa.

It is not also related to what has been described as Jose Manalo's alleged "racist" joke.

The agency is asking them to explain the "utterance of profane words" by Wally Bayola, as caught live on air by the board's Monitoring and Inspection Unit.

According to the MTRCB, this is in violation of Section 2 (B), Chapter IV of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Presidential Decree No. 1986, which, it said, could actually merit "suspension or cancellation of permits and/or licenses issued by the Board and/or with the imposition of fines and other administrative penalty/penalties."

Wally already apologized relating the incident earlier the same day.

The hearing date is set on Aug. 14, Monday.
