K-pop group Seventeen sells more than 10 million albums in first 7 months of 2023
K-pop boy band Seventeen have sold more than 10 million albums from January to July this year, which is an ‘“unprecedented achievement,” according to their company HYBE.
This was revealed by HYBE CEO Park Jiwon during a conference call on Aug. 8 to discuss the company’s second quarter earnings and updates on its artists.

According to Park Jiwon, “Seventeen’s 10th mini-album ‘FML’ sold 3.99 million copies on the first day of release, setting a new record in the K-pop history.”
He added that Seventeen “sold more than 10 million copies in seven months this year, which is an unprecedented achievement in the K-pop industry.”
“Going into their ninth year since debut, Seventeen’s…is still growing significantly, which is leading to selling out and reprinting of older albums as the group is attracting much attention.”
He added that “Seventeen started the ‘Follow’ tour in Seoul in July and is going to continue their world tour in Japan after releasing the ‘Japan Best’ album in August.”
HYBE also released a written report showing that Seventeen grabbed the No. 1 spot based on the total albums sold in the first half of 2023.
It stated that Seventeen sold a total of 8.86 million copies of album in the first six months of 2023, based on Circle Chart data.
