Comelec extends submission of SIUS until Sept. 30

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has extended the deadline for submission of Sworn Information and Updated Statement (SIUS) for 2023 until Sept. 30.

Comelec said that this includes all registered political parties or coalition of political parties, national, regional, or sectoral party, organization, or coalition, including those which participated in, and intend to participate in, the Party-List System of Representation with the Office of the Clerk of the Commission (OCOC).

Starting in 2024, and annually thereafter, Comelec stated that the last day to file the said SIUS shall be on Aug. 15, with the Political and Financial Affairs Department (PFAD), formerly known as the Campaign Finance Office (CFO), being the receiving office.

The prescribed SIUS form may be downloaded from www.comelec.gov.ph. Comelec said that the accomplished form must be notarized and signed by an authorized officer, which may be any of the following: President, Chairman, or Secretary General.

The duly accomplished SIUS must be in PDF format and submitted to the OCOC via email at [email protected] with the subject headline format: SIUS as of Month_Year - [Name of Party, Coalition or Organization].

Immediately after email filing, the hard copy of the SIUS must be submitted by personal service or through the fastest means available, including mail or courier, to the Clerk of the Commission, 8th Floor Palacio del Gobernador, Intramuros, Manila.

For parties who have already submitted the hard copy of their SIUS, they must also file their SIUS in PDF format via email.

All parties are given 10 days from the existence of any of the following material changes in the party/organization's information to file an updated SIUS:

  • Change in the party/organization's name;
  • Change in the principal headquarters of the party/organization;
  • Change in the composition of the Board of Directors or Trustees of the party/organization;
  • Change in the party/ organization's officers; and
  • Other material changes affecting the existence and composition of the party/organization.

The poll body stated that political parties, coalition of political parties and party-list groups and organizations are hereby informed that failure to comply with the requirements under Resolution No. 10943 shall be deemed as prima facie evidence that the party, organization or coalition has ceased to exist, and/or that they deliberately failed to comply with the applicable rules of Comelec, and shall be a cause for the cancellation of registration of the concerned party, organization or coalition after due notice.
