Residents will be able to purchase fruits, vegetables, rice, eggs, and other produce sourced directly from farmers at a much lower price.
On Jan. 12, the LGU officially launched the Kadiwa truck as part of the national government’s efforts in bringing cheap, quality produce to the public amid the rising prices of basic commodities.
Zamora explained that the Kadiwa on Wheels initiative of the Office of the President and the Department of Agriculture (DA) will now be visiting different barangays in various cities to reach more people.
Zamora said San Juan had been chosen as the program’s pilot city for its regular operations. The Kadiwa Truck will be visiting other barangays in San Juan every two days starting Jan. 12.
