Misters of Filipinas turns 10, holds distinction of being the longest-running male pageant in PH

Another year, another set of dashing male candidates strutted the runway during the press presentation of the 10th edition of Misters of Filipinas 2023 at the Winford Hotel Manila Resort and Casino last Aug. 6. 

Becoming the longest-running male pageant in the Philippines, and celebrating the organization's milestone, has been a great pleasure for Carlo Morris Galang, President of Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation Inc. (PEPPS). 

"Ten years ago, a vision was ignited. A vision to celebrate the essence of Filipino masculinity and showcase the multi-pacific talents, intelligence, and charisma of our nation's remarkable young men, the journey till now then is made with determination, innovation, and passion as we take this momentous event forward," Carlo said. 

This year's crop of candidates is part of the ongoing evolution that PEPPS is taking. Carlo further reiterates and reminds the advocacy of the organization.

"PEPPS in the past 10 years has definitely evolved. I dreamt of carving a niche in Philippine male pageantry by uplifting its image from its negative reputation. While I can't say that I have fully done it, I know that our organization's contribution has been impactful as it did change how people see male pageants now," Carlo said.

The candidates, according to Carlo, will be more than just candidates who will strut in swimwear and formal wear. What is important is how they can become positive role models to their communities and the country.

"That is why the slogan of Misters of Filipinas and Man of the World is Masculinity with Responsibility. More than having a handsome face and a gorgeous body, every man who has passed through Misters of Filipinas and Man of the World should have developed a sense of community and have evolved to become the best versions of themselves so that they contribute to society. Everyone who became part of our 10 years are just that," Carlo added. 

Before ending the press presentation, three candidates were announced as the Press Favorites, and their names were Lloyd Figueras (Laoag City), Kenneth Vincent Cabungcal (Negros Oriental), and Godfrey Nikolai Murillo (Pampanga). 

The candidates were taken in from all over the country in hopes of winning one of the coveted titles of the competition, including Mister Model Worldwide, Mister Fitness Model World, Mister Super Globe, Man Hot Star International, and Man of The World. 

The 10th Misters of Filipinas Finals Night will be held on 17 September 2023 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theatre in Makati City at 7:00PM.
