Mayor Along lauds Caloocan police for relentless efforts vs illegal drugs
Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan on Thursday, Aug. 10, commended the local police force for its relentless efforts in conducting successful anti-illegal frug operations in line with his goal to make Caloocan a “drug-free” city.
The Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS), led by Col. Ruben Lacuasta, was recognized by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) as the Best Police Station for Anti-Drug Operations during a ceremony held at Camp Bagong Diwa on Monday, August 7, after it recovered more than 70,000 grams of illegal drugs worth P87 million in a series of anti-illegal drug operations in the city from May to June 2023.
The award was conferred to the CCPS by the Metro Manila Council Chairman and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora along with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-NCR (PDEA-NCR).

“Lubos po tayong natutuwa sa parangal na natanggap ng CCPS dahil ito po ay nagpapakita ng kanilang walang sawang pagkilos upang labanan ang ilegal na droga sa ating lungsod (We are very happy with the award received by CCPS because it shows their tireless efforts to fight against illegal drugs in our city),” Malapitan said.
“Tinatawagan ko rin po ang lahat ng Batang Kankaloo na makiisa sa mga ginagawang programa ng pamahalaang lungsod at ng CCPS upang tuluyan nating malinis ang ating mga komunidad at mapangalagaan ang kapakanan ng bawat isa (I am also calling on all Batang Kankaloo to join the programs of the city government and the CCPS so that we can keep our communities clean and take care of everyone's well-being,” he added.
Mayor Along admitted that even with the award, his administration will continue its unrelenting campaign against illegal drugs.
“Patuloy pa nating gagawing inspirasyon ang parangal na ito, ngunit asahan po ninyo na hindi magiging kampante ang ating pamahalaang lungsod sa laban kontra droga. Marami na po tayong nagawa, ngunit marami pa rin ang kailangang gawin (We will continue to make this award an inspiration, but expect that our city government will not be complacent in the fight against drugs. We've done a lot, but there's still more to do),” the Mayor said.
Meanwhile, Lacuesta thanked Malapitan for continuously supporting the CCPS not just in its anti-drug operations but also in its other programs to ensure the safety of Caloocan residents.
