CAVITE – Authorities found on Wednesday, August 9, the chopped up body parts of an engineer who was reported missing since July 7.
The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) identified the victim as Napoleon Fernandez.
On August 8, Bacoor City Police Station (CPS) officers went to the victim’s house after his brother reported him missing.
Upon arrival, they caught the suspect, identified as Romnick M. Bombeo, wearing a backpack containing P4,926,100 in cash and the victim’s jewelry and ATM cards.
Bombeo resisted arrest and allegedly assaulted the responding officers but was eventually subdued and apprehended.
Investigation showed that Bombeo was the victim’s steward and housemate. The two reportedly had a row on the day of the victim’s birthday, leading the suspect to kill the victim.
Bombeo allegedly mutilated the victim’s body and put the parts in separate sacks to dump into the creek.
The suspect later revealed the location of the body parts to the authorities.
Bombeo is now under the custody of Bacoor CPS. He had earlier been charged with qualified theft and direct assault and is set to be charged with robbery with homicide.
