What do you do when it doesn’t stop raining on your wedding day, to the point that it flooded the church?

For couple Paulo and Mae Padilla, they decided to push through with it. Set on July 30, 2023 at 3 p.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish Barasoain, everyone was supportive of their decision to walk through the flood.

In an interview with Hugs & Kisses Photography, they told Manila Bulletin that the storm and flood were all over Bulacan. “We arrived at the hotel early to shoot and it started to rain by then. The bride and groom were so nervous about the weather,” they continued. “It was also a struggle getting to the church as it was flooded all the way.”

It was touching to watch the video as everyone started to find ways to get to the church—either barefoot or in boots, even getting their clothes wet. “The bride’s walk on the aisle was so special, everyone was in tears as they smiled and watched her pass them by. She told the guests, ‘Baha lang iyan. Nagmamahalan kami.’”

Hugs & Kisses Photography took their role up a notch. “We were worried if the flood would get to their power supply, or what if one of our gears would drop in the water, but it was amazing to be part of their wedding. This couple finally had their ‘happily ever after,’ just like their hashtag #WePaunallyMaedit.”
