The medicine was turned over by the India Business Forum Philippines Association Inc. led by its president Dileep Tiwari.

The donation was facilitated by the Embassy of India represented by Economics and Commerce Counsellor Sadre Alam and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI-Iloilo Chapter) led by president Fulbert Woo.

The donation is a post-activity after Iloilo hosted the India Business Roadshow on May 31.

“The socio-economic agenda and priority sectors of the government of the Philippines such as agriculture, health, Fintech etc. are also focus areas of cooperation of my government,” said Alam.

For the governor, the donation can be an inspiration for Iloilo’s plan to embark on pharmaceutical research and development.

“The companies of India can donate medicines because they have a developed pharmaceutical industry. And we are inspired by that. We are partnering with universities and academic institutions,” said Defensor.
