Homecoming for health: Leaders of Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th Watch) spearhead series of medical missions

The Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th Watch) commenced its Grand Medical Mission to give back to underserved communities across the Philippines, starting off in Odiongan, Romblon last July 22. The Romblon medical mission was followed by simultaneous medical missions in Cavite, Marikina, Bacolod, and Laguna last July 29 ahead of the church’s 50th anniversary in August.

A total of 8,907 beneficiaries from Marikina, Cavite (pictured above), Laguna, Romblon, and Bacolod participated in the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th Watch)’s nationwide Grand Medical Mission last July 29.

PMCC (4th Watch), through their Dalaw Kalinga Foundation, administered various medical, dental, and optometry services to chosen communities in Malanday, Marikina City and in the following weekend in Cabuyao, Laguna; Imus City, Cavite; and Bacolod City. Over 8,000 beneficiaries are expected to be provided with free healthcare services in these locations.

Those familiar with the church’s history know that its roots began in Odiongan, Romblon. This was the hometown of their leaders, Apostle Arsenio T. Ferriol and Bishop Jonathan S. Ferriol.

“The community in Odiongan has been instrumental in forming our family into the faithful servants of God that we are today. We wouldn’t be filled with God’s grace had it not been for their support and care during our formative years. It is only fitting that we give back to the community that first showed us the all-encompassing love of God,” Bishop Ferriol said.

The church’s recent Grand Medical Mission stems from its consistent track record of outreach programs in the Philippines and abroad. From its first medical mission in Marikina in 1997, PMCC (4th Watch)’s Dalaw Kalinga Foundation went on to provide a broad range of medical services—from essential medicines to more comprehensive outpatient services—to remote communities in the country.

Beneficiaries received a wide variety of healthcare services including a general check-up and other medical, dental, and optometry services.

Bishop Ferriol added that these missions are among the ways in which their church fulfills its mission. “We recognize that our faith is not solely about personal development but also about actively engaging with and contributing to the needs of others. By cultivating a deep sense of compassion, empathy, and selflessness, we can embody the profound love that Jesus demonstrated and seek to replicate His example of service in our own lives,” he said.

The Grand Medical Mission is part of PMCC (4th Watch)’s celebration of its 50th Anniversary, which will culminate with an International Convention and a Golden Anniversary Celebration on August 27 at the New Clark City Athletics Stadium in Capas, Tarlac.

PMCC (4th Watch) has previously organized a nationwide bloodletting activity in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross last July 8. More than 4,000 blood bags were collected from donors across 30 locations in the Philippines.

Bishop Ferriol believes that religious groups like PMCC (4th Watch) play a vital role in the development and betterment of communities. “Through collaborative partnerships, educational initiatives, and inclusive messaging, we inspire a sense of ownership and engagement in the broader community. Together, we can save lives, support the well-being of our society, and exemplify the power of unity in serving a common cause,” he said.
