Two houses were gutted in a fire that broke out in Barangay 118, Tondo, Manila on Monday, July 31. According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the first alarm was declared at 9:11 p.m. and the second alarm at 9:13 p.m. Firefighters said the fire started inside a three-story house made of light materials and spread to the adjacent house. The fire was put under control at 9:38 p.m. and was extinguished at 9:57 p.m. Firemen noted that the heavy downpour helped them contain the fire. The BFP said no one was reportedly injured in the incident. Arson investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire and the estimated damage to property.
