Paolo, Isko's signing of TAPE contracts proof 'Eat Bulaga' not ending this month: lawyer

The signing of long-term contracts by Paolo Contis and Isko Moreno with the Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE) is proof that “Eat Bulaga” will not end this month.  This was according to TAPE lawyer [Maggie Abraham-Garduque, who earlier denied](https://mb.com.ph/2023/7/7/tape-lawyer-denies-rumors-eat-bulaga-to-end-this-month?fbclid=IwAR0VWCZ05B_RRKhRqMa1794c_eE94AxRdsj1pJKiLpjswovsTxe0nW4NPH8) the comments by showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin that “Eat Bulaga” will only run until July 29.  (From left) TAPE lawyer Maggie Abraham-Garduque, Paolo Contis, Romeo Jalosjos Jr., Isko Moreno, Joy Romina Marcelo and Bullet Jalosjos (Photo from TAPE's Facebook page)

During the signing, she said, "Kaya nga po nagulat kami sa mga balitang until July 29, 2023 na lang ang ‘Eat Bulaga. Why would TAPE sign a contract with them if ‘Eat Bulaga’ will end on July 29?" Kapag walang usok, walang apoy,” she added, explaining that this was because “Eat Bulaga” is not earning.  Abraham-Garduque, who served as a lawyer of Vhong Navarro in his rape case, added, "Paradoxically ang mag-end sa July 29, 2023 ay ang 43rd year ng ‘Eat Bulaga’ as on that day, ‘Eat Bulaga’ will be celebrating its 44th anniversary. Maraming inihandang surpresa ang ‘Eat Bulaga’ bilang pasasalamat sa mga manonood sa patuloy na pagtangkilik ng mga ito sa longest running noontime show, ‘Eat Bulaga.’" She added that the commercial load of “Eat Bulaga” has increased from seven minutes to 13 minutes, and she is satisfied with the show’s ratings.  Based on Nielsen data for July 6, under the Nationwide Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM), “Eat Bulaga” got a rating of 3.51 percent, compared to 4.44 percent for “E.A.T.” and 3.05 percent for “It’s Showtime.”  On July 7, “Eat Bulaga” had 3.34 percent, “E.A.T.” got 3.88 percent and “It’s Showtime” received 2.77 percent.
