P1.9-M shabu seized in Lucena buy-bust


CAMP NAKAR, Lucena City, Quezon – Suspected shabu worth P1.9 million was seized and three drug pushers were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dalahican here on Sunday, July 9.

Quezon police director Police Col. Ledon Monte identified the suspects as Barangay Dalahican residents Alvin Gobrin Unlayao, 35; Christian Cantor Aquino, alias “Kwatog,” 39, and Robert Driz Moreno, 35.

The Lucena police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of the Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) said the suspects were apprehended after they sold shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

Suspects yielded six sachets and a knot-tied plastic bag containing shabu with an estimated weight of 94.4 grams and street value of P1,925,762.

Monte said they placed the suspects under surveillance after residents reported their illegal activities.

The Quezon police chief said that with the arrest of the suspects and the confiscation of their illegal drugs, people in the province will be saved from addiction and the threat it poses to the community.

"What we are doing in drug operations is mainly and constantly intensifying peace and order, the arrest of drug personalities is our way to prevent their victimization of our countrymen as well as their bad activities," said Monte.
