This time they are berating him for supposedly not being able to give financial support to his children despite giving away thousands in cash via “Eat Bulaga.” Paolo finds this funny. The money that he gives away in the show is not his after all. In any case, when asked to address the issue in Ogie Diaz’s recent vlog, Paolo admitted to simply dismissing such criticism, relating “Wala naman silang (critics) alam sa mga effort na gusto kong mangyari, sa effort na gusto kong gawin (para sa mga anak ko).” Paolo didn’t elaborate, noting simply “usapang lawyers na 'yan." But why is he not giving financial support to his three daughters – Xonia and Xalene, with former EB Babe Lian Paz; and Summer with actress LJ Reyes? He told "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" prior, “I have my reasons." He insisted, "But I’m saving for them. I have some savings for them that hopefully, one day, I could give to them straight.” Looking back, Paolo maintained his statement was “blown out of proportion.” But he is not blaming the show or Boy. “Mali ‘yung pagkakasabi ko tapos hindi ko naman inelaborate kaya, kumbaga, blown out of proportion,” the actor said. To this day, Paolo is yet to communicate with his children. He has tried. To  the point of “stalking” them on social media. He is burdened by the situation. He said, “It’s just really sad na naging collateral damage sila sa mga kamalian ko.” “Ang main fear ko is that I will never get the opportunity to actually talk to them,” he added.
