K-POP IS FOR EVERYONE Through ‘Everyone’s K-pop: Manila,’ Filipinos are invited to immerse themselves in the world of K-pop

Say hello to Hallyu world! Get ready to get immersed in fun and exciting K-pop events this July!

A zone where Filipino K-pop enthusiasts can experience, watch, and dive into different K-pop-related events is set to open for free every Friday in July 2023 at the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in the Philippines.

For a lot of K-pop stans, the fandom experience wouldn’t be complete without attending concerts and fan meets, as well as buying all kinds of merchandise and, of course, going to various K-pop events.

That’s why on July 1, the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) and Seoul Shinmun, in partnership with the Philippine K-pop Convention (PKCI) and Robinsons Galleria Ortigas, officially kicked off “Everyone’s K-pop: Manila,” an event that promised an immersion into the captivating world of K-pop.

The “K-space” at the 5th floor Multipurpose Hall of the Korean Cultural Center is open every Friday in July for K-pop communities to hold their special events. Whether it is a comeback watch party, a dance party, or a birthday celebration for your favorite bias, K-Space offers a zone where you can feel the Hallyu world.

Kick-off party
Hundreds of Filipino K-pop enthusiasts gathered during the official K-Space kick-off event to experience the captivating world of K-pop at the Robinsons Galleria Ortigas.
The event, which was divided into two phases, offered an array of thrilling activities that explored various aspects of K-pop culture. The audience could also shop for K-pop merchandise around the K-space.

During the first part of the event, the K-pop playground provided the audience the chance to play fun games and get themselves familiarized with K-variety shows.
There were also different interactive activities on and off-stage, prepared by the fan club booths. K-pop stans also walked up the stage as they showcased their looks and get-up during the K-pop Cosplay Show, where they impersonated their favorite K-idols. P-pop boy groups VER5US, Eclipse, and P-pop rising girl group G22 also graced the event as they delighted the audience with their energetic performances.
K-pop cover dance fest
The afternoon program just got more exciting with the 2023 K-pop Cover Dance Festival (KCDF). Filipino dance groups from all over the Philippines showcased their talent by performing various K-pop dances. A total of 11 dance groups strutted their stuff in dance moves that articulated the spirit of K-pop.

P-POP REPRESENT P-pop group Alpha will be experiencing a tour of Korea and receive a full K-pop idol group experience after winning the 2023 K-pop Cover Dance Festival (KCDF)

Nine-member P-pop girl group Alpha was named the grand winner of the K-pop Cover Dance Festival. They will represent the Philippines in Korea in the final round.
“Finally, our hard work has paid off,” said Czarina, a 28-year-old member of the P-pop group Alpha, sharing her experience after her group was named the grand winner.

“We are excited about our new journey to represent the Philippines in Korea. We’re also thrilled to share the culture of the Philippines and show our talent in Korea.”
Alpha will receive a full K-pop idol group experience, including training with a renowned choreographer and a professional photo taken by a famous photographer. They will also embark on an unforgettable tour of Korea, immersing themselves in the vibrant Korean culture.

“Everyone’s K-pop: Manila” seeks to highlight diverse aspects of K-pop beyond its musical and dance elements. Moreover, it strives to convey the inclusive nature of K-pop, just like any other music genre.
