'Abominable experience': Clarita Carlos slams 'oven-like' airport in Coron

Professor Clarita Carlos took to Facebook to complain about an "abominable" experience at an airport in Coron, Palawan that gave a whole new meaning to the phrase "warm welcome". Apparently, this particular airport, which Carlos didn't name, is "like an oven" in terms of the intolerable heat there. "Right now, 50% of my family has been waiting for hours in an airport in Coron, because of an announced flight delay," the former national security adviser wrote in a post on Friday, July 7. "Maybe ok with one delay but airport is like an OVEN sa init! (hot as an oven)," she said. "They informed me there is a coffeeshop with AC (air-conditioning) but you need to keep on ordering food to stay in its premises," she lamented. The worst part is, the airport has been in this state for years, according to Carlos. "Five years ago, my research team and I were in Coron and exactly in that airport where my family is now… Five years on… OVEN pa din yung airport!! (The airport is like an oven!!)" she said. "See how the beautiful experience in beautiful Coron will be erased by the abominable airport experience of both locals and foreigners!" the obviously upset Carlos said. Carlos works as chief adviser of House Speaker Martin Romualdez. Coron, the third-largest island in the Calamian Islands in northern Palawan, is known as a divers' haven.
