Sampaloc fire affects 12 families, leaves P300,000 in damage

Twelve families were affected while P300,000 worth of damage was reported in a fire that broke out in a residential area in Sampaloc, Manila on Thursday, July 6. According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire was raised to the first alarm at 5:19 p.m. and to the second alarm at 5:26 p.m. It was put under control at 6 p.m. and was extinguished at 6:42 p.m. Arson investigators said the fire started inside a two-story house on Loreto Street, Barangay 418. Twelve houses made of light materials were destroyed by the fire. The Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) installed partition tents in Barangay 420 that will serve as temporary shelter for the victims. No one was injured in the incident.
