P380,000 'shabu' seized in Sta. Mesa drug sting

The Manila Police District (MPD) seized some P387,600 worth of alleged shabu during a buy-bust operation in Sta. Mesa, Manila on Wednesday, July 5.

The MPD Sta. Mesa Police Station (PS-8) identified the suspect as Armando Laguinday, 41, a resident of Sta. Mesa, Manila; and Clarisa Martin, 31, a resident of Sulukan Street, Sampaloc, Manila.

PS-8 operatives said the suspects were collared on Francisco Street, Barangay 591, Sta. Mesa Manila at around 1 a.m.

Authorities said they received a report from a concerned citizen about the suspects' alleged shabu trade.

Seven plastic sachets containing 57 grams of suspected shabu were confiscated from the suspects.

The suspects are currently under the custody of PS-8 and will be charged for violations of Sections 5 and 11 under Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
