  • "We're moving to an earlier slot para mas marami ang maka enjoy sa binibigay na entertainment ng Bubble Gang. Mas malawak ang audience kapag mas maaga and also on a weekend. At habang tumatagal you always have to reinvent yourself, especially for a program that has lasted this long," said Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, during a media conference for the show in Quezon City recently.

"Bubble Gang," GMA Network’s award-winning and longest-running comedy show, gets fresher, bigger, and more exciting as it moves to a new time slot -  airing every Sunday at 6 pm beginning July 9.

"We're moving to an earlier slot para mas marami ang maka enjoy sa binibigay na entertainment ng Bubble Gang.

Rasonable added: "You always have to reinvent and give something new to your audience. That's our responsibility to our audience and we are fulfilling that responsibility. So we're excited about what we can give na bago dito sa bagong Bubble Gang on a Sunday."

Michael V said that the new timeslot is a welcome change for him.

"It's a welcome change for us kasi for the longest time has been airing Friday nights so sa Sunday night, mas wholesome ito. So mas challenging for us. Hindi naman ganun ka-challenging. Basta it's for a wider audience and we're very conscious about the content," Michael V remarked.

(It's a welcome change for us because for the longest time it has been airing Friday nights so on Sunday night, it's more wholesome. So it's more challenging for us. It's not that challenging. As long as it's for a wider audience, and we're very conscious about the content.)

Frasco Mortiz, one of two "Bubble Gang" directors, said that the biggest challenge for the show would be to stay relevant amid the social media frenzy.

"I think ang magandang thrust ng show under its new time slot is yung relevance ng 'Bubble Gang' as a comedy show. Pinu-push pa rin namin siya na maging relevant pa rin kasi sa social media, everyday may comedy content ka na rin na nakikita. So how do you stay relevant na ang kalaban mo ay social media? We make sure na yung topics na ginagawa namin ay relatable sa mas malaking audience. And then dapat mas nakakatawa siya at nakikita mo na tutoong nangyayari siya sa tunay na buhay. Maloko pa rin kami at hindi puwedeng mawala yun dahil yun ang tatak ng Bubble Gang," Mortiz said.

(I think the good thrust of the show under its new time slot is the relevance of 'Bubble Gang' as a comedy show. We are still pushing it to be relevant because, on social media, you have comedy content that can be seen everyday. So how do you stay relevant when your opponent is social media? We make sure that the topics we do are relatable to a larger audience. And then he should be funnier, and you can see that it is actually happening in real life. We're still crazy, and we can't lose that because that's the 'Bubble Gang' brand.)

On what to expect from the new "Bubble Gang," Mortiz said: "Iba yung energy na binibigay ngayon ng mga artist dahil may audience involved. Kumbaga they're doing it in front of an audience. On their toes silang lahat dahil may nanonood eh. So may renewed energy. In terms of comedy, siyempre dala pa rin nila yung mga kalokohan na nakasanayan na nila sa sa Bubble Gang. So challenge sa amin ito na makapagbigay ng bagong content. Sana magustuhan ng tao yung mga ginawa naming."

(The energy that artists give now is different because there's an audience involved. It's like they're doing it in front of an audience. They're all on their toes because someone's watching. So there's a renewed energy. In terms of comedy, of course, they will still do silly things in 'Bubble Gang.' So it's a challenge for us to provide new content. I hope people like what we've done.)
