BUTUAN CITY – A magnitude-4.1 earthquake jolted Sarangani on Thursday, July 6.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake was registered at 11:27 a.m. and its
epicenter was 25 kilometers southwest of Kiamba, Sarangani.
The tremor had a depth of 20 kms, Phivolcs said.
It was felt at Intensity V in Kiamba, Sarangani; Intensity IV in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato; Intensity III in T'boli, South Cotabato and Maitum, Sarangani; Intensity II in General Santos City and Tupi, South Cotabato, and Intensity I in Malapatan and Maasim, Sarangani.
No aftershocks or damage are expected from this earthquake.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Southern Mindanao and Sarangani Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council
reported no damage or injury from the earthquake.
