Drama actor Aga Muhlach has said his daughter Atasha's decision to enter showbiz was hers, and hers alone. He stated that he will not "meddle" in her life now that she's 21 but at the same time he assured her that he will be "right there behind her."

Aga appeared to be at a loss for words when asked about Atasha's showbiz plans and her dream to be just like him during a media conference for his upcoming Viva movie with Julia Barretto entitled "Forgetting Canseco."

"Hindi ko alam sagutin yan...hindi ko kaya. Hayaan ko lang sya. Basta as her dad, she knows that I'm just there right behind her. Ayokong makialam talaga. I pray that she flies," he remarked.

(I don't know how to answer that (question). I seem unable to. I will just let her be. As long as she knows that I'm right there behind her as her dad. I really don't want to interfere. I pray that she flies.)

He implied that he and his wife, the former beauty queen and actress Charlene Gonzales, have no plans to be stage parents to Atasha who is set to graduate with honors from her business course in a UK university.

"Gusto nya yan eh. Eskwela nya, sya ang namimili, saan nya gustong mag-aral, anong gusto nyang gawin. Like when she wanted to work already, sabi ko Go! Para maramdaman mo, makita mo. Di ba?" Aga stressed.

( It's what she likes. She chose her school, where she studied, what she wanted to do. Like when she wanted to work already, I told her to go for it. So that you can see and experience for yourself. Right?)

"Hindi  ako pwedeng manghimasok talaga sa buhay nila (Atasha and her twin brother Andres).  If they really want to make it on their own, nandiyan lang ako sa likod nila. Kung ano  ang gawin nila...dumapa sila, masugatan sila, parang sige lang, kaya nyo yan," Aga pointed out.

( I really cannot meddle in my children's lives. If they really want to make it on their own, I'm just there behind them. Whatever they do...they fall flat on their faces, they get injured, I would say it's okay, you can survive it.)

Atasha has stated that she looks up to her famous parents. She also shared the advice that Aga and Charlene gave her when she decided to enter showbiz: "Their biggest tip to me  is to just be yourself, continue to be kind, always be respectful of others and any opportunity that's given you, take advantage of that and try your best."

Aga revealed that he "already saw" his daughter's potential way back when they did commercials and believes she has what it takes to make it in the competitive industry.

"I can't say anything except to wish her well. She's of age so work, work it. As she said: SLAY!," Aga stated.
