Two riders die in accident in Tacloban City

TACLOBAN CITY – Two men were killed in a freak motorcycle accident along the Bypass Road, Barangay 110, Utap Zone 2-B, Tacloban City, on Wednesday, July 5. The driver was identified as Alexander Nicholas, 21, and his back rider Randy Castillo, 25, both working as gasoline boys in the city. The victims were found lying on the ground with blood oozing from their heads. Initial investigation disclosed that their vehicle was traversing the bypass road from Abucay heading towards Apitong purportedly at a high speed. As they were negotiating a curved portion of the highway, the driver however lost control of his motorcycle which skidded and veered out of its lane. It swerved into the right shoulder where the victims hit a street light post. They were brought to Tacloban City Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
