Thai stars FreenBecky hold their biggest event in PH; try playing ‘lato-lato’

Thai stars Freen Sarocha and Rebecca Armstrong, popularly known as FreenBecky, packed the Araneta Coliseum on July 4 as they held their biggest event in the Philippines to date.

The stars, whose popularity soared through the Thai GL (girl’s love) drama “GAP: The Series,” which aired from November 2022 to February this year,  held their “Aromagicare FreenBecky Grand Fanmeeting.”

The crowd that filled up the coliseum came from different sectors including the LGBT community.

It was a grand celebration for FreenBecky following their signing up as the new ambassadors of Aromagicare in April, their first Filipino brand endorsement. The two are also the first Thai brand ambassadors of Aromagicare.

Aromagicare is from WIDE International with a focus on health and wellness. It has the Aromagicare Therapy Oil products—Classic, Strawberry, BMW, and Coffee.

Filipino actresses Glaiza De Castro and Rhian Ramos opened the show and met FreenBecky.

FreenBecky took to the stage and performed “Marry Me” and “Pink Theory.”

“I’m so, so glad to be back,” said Becky.

Q & A

The fan meeting featured different segments. One portion had Freen, 24, and Becky, 20, answering questions. Ramos asked them to choose between career and love as the thing worth fighting for.

They both picked careers with Becky saying, “I would choose the career that I’ve worked for. I don’t know but you can still find love again if you meet that person. But career that you worked for from the beginning, I don’t know. I don’t want to lose that.”

“I believe that if we work hard in our career, love will come after that,” said Freen.

De Castro asked them how they see themselves in three to five years.

“I want us to still be together. Growing up together, hopefully being back here also in three to five years or maybe earlier. Hopefully we’re still one big family like this and stay together forever,” said Becky.

Freen said, “I hope that we will still communicate with each other and will continuously grow together and work together.”

Fans also asked them questions. About tattoos, Freen said she is planning to get another one while Becky will be getting a temporary tattoo sticker.

The two were asked about when fans can see them in a musical. Becky said, “Musical? When a musical comes and hires me. I want to sing and perform.”

Freen and Becky also answered a question on whether they had regrets in the past and how they settled it.

“It is normal for us to have regrets in life. We just have to accept it and face the fact. I know that it will be a bit painful but I know everyone can do it and move forward,” said Freen.

If she had the chance to talk to her younger self, Becky said she would say, “For my younger self, I would say thank you for working hard through everything, for not giving up when you got rejections.”

What’s in the box?

Freen and Becky played the “What’s in the box?” game wherein they tried guessing by touching and feeling Filipino things inside boxes.

The things inside the boxes were an “arinola” or chamber pot, a “bunot” or coconut husk used to polish floors and “palo-palo,” or a piece of wood used in laundry.

Freen and Becky also tried playing the now popular “lato-lato” toy, also known as clackers, with two balls hanging from a string.

In addition, Freen and Becky performed “At My Worst” and “No More Blues.” Freen also sang “Orders from My Heart” while Becky had “Stay” as her solo spot.

“I’m so happy that I came again here in the Philippines. The crowd is very large tonight and I’m so grateful for your love and support,” said Freen.

Aromagicare’s April Martin and Pauline Publico were at the fan meeting to show their support to FreenBecky.

“Thank you for coming tonight. We love you so much. Mahal ko kayo (I love you all),” said Becky while Freen said, “Thank you, Aromagicare.”

“Thank you for making this possible for us,” said Becky.

The Aromagicare fan meeting was Freen and Becky’s fourth time to be in the Philippines. They were in the country in June last year for the “Pinoy BL Festival. The two came back in February for “The Debutante” event and in April for the “Fabulous Fan Boom” event.

The  “Aromagicare FreenBecky Grand Fanmeeting” was presented by CDM Entertainment.
