CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office-13 seized suspected shabu worth P855,234.64 during the implementation of the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) in the Caraga region from June 26 to July 2.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra said they launched 24 anti-illegal drug operations which led to the arrest of 25 drug personalities comprised of seven high-value individuals (HVI), four street-level individuals (SLI), and 14 newly identified drug personalities.
Suspects yielded a total of 124.769 grams of shabu.
PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said three suspects were arrested and recovered from them were 77 grams of shabu worth P523,600.
Ometer said one of the suspects was the source of illegal drugs in Barangays Libertad and Ambago, this city, and Buenavista town, Agusan del Norte.
Five suspects were apprehended and seized from them were 25.9 grams of shabu valued at P176,120 in Agusan del Norte.
Ometer said 11 suspects, an HVI and 10 newly identified drug personalities, were arrested and 16.8688 grams of shabu worth P114,714.64 were seized in the provinces of Surigao.
Police here nabbed two HVIs, three SLIs, and a newly identified drug personality in five separate operations in which six grams of shabu valued at P40,800 were recovered from them.
One of the HVI was arrested for selling shabu weighing 50 grams worth P340,000 to a police poseur buyer in Barangay San Ignacio here.
Ometer added suspects shall face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“Along with our aggressive and honest law enforcement operations, we vow to step up the government's crackdown on illegal drugs with more focus on high-value targets,” Labra said.
“By apprehending them, we disrupt the drug trade, making it harder for drugs to reach potential users."
