A total of P340,748 worth of suspected shabu was seized during a buy-bust operation in Tondo, Manila on Tuesday, July 4. The Manila Police District- Drug Enforcement Unit (MPD-DEU) identified the suspects as Arlene Hipolan, 24, a resident of Tondo, Manila, and Kenjie Martin, 22, a resident of Sampaloc, Manila. Based on the police report, the two suspects were caught selling drugs to a poseur-buyer in Laon Laan Street corner Marzan Street, Sampaloc, Manila at about 12:25 a.m. Recovered from the suspects were six plastic sachets containing 50.11 grams of alleged shabu and a brown sling bag. The pieces of evidence were submitted to the MPD-Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative examination. The arrested suspects are currently being held at the MPD-DEU custodial facility. They are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
