Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna- Pangan led on Tuesday, July 4, the distribution of financial assistance to 131 families who were victims of the fire incidents that happened in the city from April to June.
Lacuna-Pangan was accompanied by Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) Director Re Fugoso.
She said each family received P10,000.
The important thing is, after such disasters, we are able to rise again)," the mayor said.
Lacuna- Pangan also assured every family that the city government will continue its financial assistance programs.
Maliit man po maibigay namin sa inyong tulong eh sigurado naman po kahit papaano makakapagsimula kayong muli (We will not stop helping you in any way. Even if it's just a little help, we are sure that somehow you will be able to start again from this)."
In this kind of situation, always put your family first. Things can be replaced but not our lives)," she added.
The fire incidents had affected 20 families in districts 1 and 4 last April, while 78 families from districts 1 to 6 were affected last May, and 33 families from districts 1 to 5 and Baseco were affected last June.
The cash assistance from the city government aims to help the affected families in their recovery needs.
