According to DSWD-Bicol Region, 622 economically displaced families in Brgy. Quirangay in Camalig town received family food packages. On Tuesday, July 4, the DSWD-Bicol Region, in collaboration with the Camalig local government, also distributed family food packs to 812 economically disadvantaged families in Barangay Anoling. This initiative was launched in response to DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchlian’s directive that economically displaced families should receive DSWD assistance even if they were not in evacuation centers. The affected families are mostly small-time farmers who are currently unable to pursue their livelihoods due to the threat posed by Mayon’s volcanic activity.
