Blast rocks Zamboanga City; police hunting 3 suspects

ZAMBOANGA CITY – An explosion rocked San Jose Cawa Cawa, this city, on Tuesday night, July 5. Police are hunting down three men reportedly behind the explosion. Investigation said prior to the incident, one of the suspects arrived aboard a motorcycle inquired about directions from resident and witness Jainero Dulap. Minutes later, two more men arrived on board a motorcycle. This made Dulap suspicious and decided to immediately enter his residence and close the gate. He told police that he saw one of the suspects light the end of a thermos-like canister. The suspects left the canister in the area and sped away. The canister exploded afterwards. Explosives and Ordnance personnel have conducted a post-blast investigation while elements of the Police Station 11 are conducting pursuit operations against the suspects.
