City Health Officer Dr. Dulce Miravite warned residents to be wary of dengue-carrying mosquitoes as five new dengue cases were recorded here this week.

Miravite reminded residents to dispose of stagnant water in unattended open receptacles which breed the dengue-carrying Aedes aegypti mosquito.

This city has recorded 833 dengue cases in the first six months of this year.

Affected sector were children aged one to 10-years-old and majority of them were male.

Miravite said the number of cases this year is lower compared to the same period in 2022.

She said the City Health Office will continue their monitoring and surveillance activities to prevent the future increase in the number of dengue cases.
