The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has named Dr. Albert Domingo as its new spokesperson, effective Monday, July 3.

Domingo is PhilHealth's vice president, responsible for supervising its primary care policy. He also serves as the head executive staff of the chairperson of the board of directors and acts as the corporate spokesperson. He previously held the role of senior technical staff at PhilHealth's Health Finance Policy Sector. Moreover, the new spokesperson previously directed the Department of Health (DOH)'s communication and disease prevention and control and provided support to the previous DOH officer-in-charge for legal, regulatory, and management concerns. Domingo is a physician, health systems specialist, and a licensed group fitness instructor, who is passionate about advocating for health. He graduated from the University of the Philippines and later from the University of Edinburgh, where he was a Chevening Scholar of the United Kingdom. He has also worked for the World Health Organization, Asian Development Bank, and United States Agency for International Development.
