Presidential Adviser on Creative Communications Paul Soriano will reprise his task as director of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s State of the Nation Address (SONA) this year. "So far, as of this moment, si Paul Soriano ang designated director ng SONA (Paul Soriano is the designated director of the SONA)," House Secretary General Reginald Velasco told reporters Tuesday afternoon, July 4 when asked who will direct SONA 2023. Velasco made the revelation just minutes after leading the conduct of the 1st Inter-Agency Coordination Meeting for the SONA this year. Soriano directed last year's SONA, which was incidentally Marcos' first. The latter's second SONA will take place on July  24, 2023 "Si Paul Soriano pa rin ang kasama namin dito sa preparations. Yun so far no, there could be more additional help (Paul Soriano is still assisting us with the preparations. That's the case so far, there could be more additional help)," Velasco said. Soriano is the husband of popular showbiz personality Toni Gonzaga. Marcos' maiden SONA was held on July 25, 2022. Three months later, Malacañang appointed Soriano as presidential adviser.
