Parañaque BPLO collects P2.84B from business taxes, fees

Olivarez reported the achievement made by the BPLO under Atty. Melanie Soriano-Malaya during his first State of the City Address (SOCAD) held at the Parañaque Sports Complex on Monday, July 3. The mayor said Malaya made the collection of P2.8-billion from business taxes and fees during the renewal of business permit from January to February compared to P2.33 billion last year for the same months.  Olivarez said the BPLO recorded a total of 20,569 registered businesses on May 31 this year which showed that more business owners want to do business in the city. He said the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) commended the BPLO as the first local government unit that pioneered the Electronic Business One-Stop Shop program (E-BOSS) in promoting ease of doing business. The mayor said the BPLO pioneered the streamlining and simplification of business permit and licensing procedures through the implementation of E-BOSS.
