Korean star Cha Eun-woo charms Pinoys: 'I will come back'

Thousands of Filipinos welcomed K-pop idol and actor Cha Eun-woo as he held his fan meeting in Manila over the weekend.  Cha Eun-woo, a member of K-pop boy band ASTRO and star of the dramas “Gangnam Beauty,” “True Beauty” and “Island,” returned to the Philippines and held his fan meeting at the Araneta Coliseum on July 2.  Cha Eun-woo at his fan meeting in Manila on July 2 (Instagram)

It’s been 11 months since Cha Eun-woo held his “Just One 10 Minute \ in Manila” in August last year.  He started his fan meeting by performing the song “Love So Fine,” the original soundtrack he recorded for his drama “True Beauty.”  “Kamusta kayo? (How are you?). I’m really glad to see you all,” he told the audience.  Cha Eun-woo also talked about his upcoming drama “A Good Day to be a Dog,” where he will co-star with  Park Gyu-young and Lee Hyun-woo.  It is a fantasy romance series “between a woman who turns into a dog when she kisses, and a man who is the only cheat key to solve the curse but is afraid of dogs,” according to Group 8.  He will play the role of Jin Seo-won, which Cha Eun-woo described as someone who is cold-hearted outside but deep inside, he has emotional scars.  “It’s a fantasy romance so I hope you will watch and support it,” he said.  Cha Eun-woo has been busy attending to his own schedule. Before coming to Manila, he went to Paris, France for a fashion show by Dior. He was confirmed to star in the drama “Wonderful World” that is set to air in the first half of 2024. During the fan meeting, he also performed “First Love” and “Focus on Me.” He also played games with fans.  He promised fans that he will return to Manila.  “I keep my promise. I earlier said that I will come back to Manila and I will keep that promise. Thank you. I am really happy and excited tonight,” he said.  After the event, Cha Eun-woo posted on his Instagram Stories a photo with the caption “Thank u Philippines.”
