A photographer was arrested by the police after he allegedly yielded a gun and suspected shabu in Taguig on July 29.
Southern Police District (SPD) chief Brig. Gen. Roderick Mariano identified the suspect as Eric Villegas, 53.

Villegas was arrested when members of the Taguig police’s Substation 5 implemented a search warrant issued by Presiding Judge Byron San Pedro of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 15-FC on Pinang Street in Barangay Ligid Tipas. During the search, the police discovered two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing 10.5 grams with a value of P71,400, a .38-caliber revolver, three pieces of live ammunition and one black sling bag. Villegas was nabbed for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act). The suspect and confiscated evidence were taken to Substation 5 for proper documentation.
