NAPC Sectoral Representative for Youth and Students Sector Ninian Sumadia, on Monday, July 31, emphasized the importance of prioritizing poverty-related programs. "Marami sa mga kabataan ngayon ang lugmok sa kahirapan, kung kaya't may mga proyekto po tayo na mga Anti-Poverty Programs iyun sana yung unahin natin sa ating mga lugar (A lot of youth suffers from poverty. That is why, we hope to prioritize those Anti-Poverty Programs in certain places)," Sumadia said in a public briefing via PTV. She also mentioned possible programs to pursue, such as Anti-Teenage Pregnancy Programs, Education, Mental Health, and Sports.

Hopes for a clean SK election
Meanwhile, despite the competition, Sumadia hoped for "clean and modern politics." She also encouraged candidates to avoid "vote buying in our 'barangay" in the upcoming election. Let us start it in our youth," she added. President Ferdinand "Bongbong " Marcos Jr. deputized the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Arm Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for the upcoming election on Oct. 30. "'Yong pagtaas ng edad, na 18 to 24 years old ang pwedeng tumakbo kung kaya't kung sila ay kumupit ng pera ng bayan, kung sila ay nangorap, pwede sila'ng sampahan ng kaso (any corrupt officials may face corresponding cases, since the age requirement was adjusted, where 18 to 24 years olds are allowed to run for the position)," Sumadia said. "Pwede makulong 'yung mga SK officials na mga corrupt (It is possible to imprison corrupt SK officials)," she added. *(Sonny Daanoy)*
