‘Uncanny Counter’ 2 premieres; ‘Revenant’ ends with own highest rating 


The Korean series “The Uncanny Counter” season 2 premiered on July 29 while Kim Tae-ri’s “Revenant” aired its finale on the same day. 

“The Uncanny Counter” returned with season 2 on tvN from OCN and stars  Jo Byeong-kyu, Kim Se-jeong, Yoo Jun-sang, Yeom Hye-ran, Ahn Suk-hwan and Yoo In-soo.

According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “The Uncanny Counter” season 2 got a nationwide first-place rating of 3.949 percent (peaking at 5.4 percent) on the cable channel in South Korea, higher compared to 2.702 percent for season 1’s premiere episode. 

The first episode of season 2 was watched by 1.37 million people nationwide in South Korea. 

In the metropolitan area (Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi), “The Uncanny Counter” season 2 got a rating of 3.948 percent (first place, peaking at 5.4 percent), higher compared to 3.167 percent for the first episode of season 1. 

Meanwhile, the series “Revenant,” starring Kim Tae-ri, Oh Jung-se and Hong Kyung, aired its 12th and final episode on July 29.

Based on Nielsen Korea data, the final episode of “Revenant” got a nationwide rating of 11.2 percent, the drama’s highest, in South Korea to place second among shows on terrestrial channels. 

In the metropolitan area, “Revenant” received a rating of 12 percent for a second-place finish. 

In first place is the KBS2 rom-com “The Real Has Come!” starring Baek Jin-hee, Ahn Jae-hyun, Cha Joo-young and Jung Eui-jae.

“The Real Has Come!” episode 37 received ratings of 20.6 percent nationwide (first place) and 19.9 percent in the metropolitan area (first place). 

In addition, “King the Land” episode 13 on July 29 got ratings of 9.388 percent (first place) nationwide and 9.506 percent (first place) in the metropolitan area. The series stars Lee Junho and Yoona.
