Newborn baby left in Bacolod church

BACOLOD CITY – A newborn baby boy was found at the lobby of the San Sebastian Cathedral here on Sunday, July 30. Police Major Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 1, said that a woman, who visited the church, heard an infant cry and located the baby wrapped in a cloth. Bonilla said the woman tried to find the person who left the baby but nobody was able to notice someone entering the church with the infant. He said the baby was referred to the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) and will be turned over to the custody of the Holy Infant Nursery Foundation Inc., a non-profit charitable institution for the orphaned, abandoned, neglected and destitute children aged between zero and six.
