Man dies, wife injured in Bacolod motorcycle crash

BACOLOD CITY – A man died and his wife was injured after their motorcycle was rammed by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in front of a church on the Mansilingan-Murcia Road in Barangay Mansilingan here on Saturday night, July 29. Police identified the fatality as Aljun Gual and the injured as his wife Maria Mariel. Police Capt. Andy Ofalia, head of Police Station 7, said that an SUV driven by a 31-year-old Polish crashed into the couple’s motorcycle. The couple was wearing helmets, but Aljun sustained serious injuries that caused his death, according to Ofalia. Aljun’s wife was taken to a hospital here while the foreigner was unharmed. He said that both parties have met and the foreigner expressed willingness to assist the victims’ family.
