The Blue Eagles had a disappointing campaign in UAAP Season 85 after missing out on the Final Four for the first time in 14 years. Almadro, who previously coached the men’s side, began calling the shots for the women’s squad in 2018, where he steered the team to its third title in his first stint. The national team coach is now tasked to bring the Blue Eagles back to the Final Four as he inherits a squad which just recently saw the departure of its standouts in Faith Nisperos and Vanie Gandler who both turned pro.
