It had scratch marks on its left eye and nape and soft tissue was seen at the back of its head. The Sagay City Environment and Natural Resources (SCENRO) has yet to determine the dolphin’s cause of death. But initial findings showed the mammal might had been hit by a hard object on its blow hole. Jose Roberto Togle, Resource Management Section Head of SCENRO, advised fishermen to immediately release mammals trapped in their fishing nets, as they play a very important role in the marine ecosystem. The dolphin was turned over to the Bantay Dagat Volunteers and to SCENRO.
