Construction of P39.2-M Butuan City central police station under way

BUTUAN CITY – A P39.2-million state-of-the-art central police station will soon rise in this city after the ceremonial groundbreaking headed by Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur  Abalos Jr. on Saturday, July 2.

Crismundo) Witnessing the event which coincided with the regional grand launching of the “Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan” (BIDA) program were local government officials, the command group of the Police Regional Office-13 led by Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II, Department of Interior and Local Government Assistant Secretary for Internal Relations Lilian M. de Leon, DILG Assistant Secretary for Human  Resource Development Florida M. Dijan, Director Debie T. Torres CESO of the Bureau of Local Government Supervision, DILG-Caraga officer-in-charge Donald A. Seronay, and 86 barangay leaders. The three-story building in a 600-square meter lot in Barangay Villa Kananga is funded through budgetary allocations under the special purpose appropriations and will be finished by Nov. 28. "This groundbreaking is indeed a morale booster for our police force, officers, and men,” Labra said. “The anticipation of a new and improved workspace uplifts the spirit of our PNP personnel in Butuan City leading to increased productivity and overall well being," he added. Labra thanked the city government headed by Mayor Ronnie Vicente C. Lagnada and all stakeholders for making the project possible.
