Valenzuela LGU evacuates 114 families due to heavy rainfall


The Valenzuela City local government evacuated 114 families in three different barangays due to heavy downpour on Saturday, July 29.

The city government evacuated 402 individuals or 114 families from Barangay Malanday, Barangay Veinte Reales, and Barangay Balangkas.

The local government unit (LGU) opened five evacuation centers to accommodate the affected residents.

As of 11 a.m. of July 29, the Valenzuela LGU evacuated 80 individuals or 20 families to Bartolome Covered Court in Barangay Veinte Reales.

A total of 124 individuals or 36 families were transferred to Andrea Fernando Elementary School in Malanday.

Meanwhile, 11 families were brought to Coloong Elementary School and 36 families transferred to Pasolo Elementary School in the same barangay.

The LGU said 32 individuals or 11 families took shelter at A. Deato Elementary School in Barangay Balangkas.

Disaster relief packs will be distributed to the residents who are currently staying in the evacuation centers.

Each disaster relief pack contains a family kit, a comfort kit, food packs, and a snack pack.
