TS Falcon may become a typhoon; to 'steadily intensify' in the next 3 days
Tropical Storm (TS) Falcon may intensify into a typhoon before it leaves the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau said on Saturday, July 29.Â

"'Falcon' is forecast to steadily intensify within the next 3 days. It is forecast to become a typhoon tomorrow afternoon or evening and reach its peak intensity on late Monday or early Tuesday," Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5 p.m. bulletin. PAGASA spotted the tropical storm 1,205 kilometers (km) east of central Luzon. "Falcon" is also seen moving northward at 20 kilometers per hour (kph), with maximum sustained winds of 75 kph and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

To exit PAR next week
"Kapag hindi magbabago ang kilos o galaw ng bagyo, inaasahan po nating lalabas ng PAR (Philippine Area of Responsibility) ang bagyong Falcon pag dating ng Lunes ng gabi o Martes ng umaga (If the Falcon's movements do not change, we expect it to leave PAR by Monday evening or Tuesday morning)", PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.Rainfall forecast
PAGASA said that 100 to 200 millimeters (mm) of rainfall were experienced in Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and northern Palawan, including Calamian, Cuyo, and Kalayaan Island on July 29. Meanwhile, 50 to 100 mm of rainfall in Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Antique. However, on July 30, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro are expected to experience 100 to 200 mm of rainfall, while 50 to 100 mm in Pangasinan, and northern Palawan, including Calamian, Cuyo, and Kalayaan Island. *(Rhowen Del Rosario)*
