CEBU CITY – In its bid to bring its services closer to the people, Tingog party-list opened three satellite offices in Metro Cebu on Saturday, July 29.
CEBU Rep. Jonkie Ouano, Tingog party-list Rep. Yedda Romualdez, Mandaue City Rep. Lolypop Ouano-Dizon, party-list Rep. Jude Acidre, and Undersecretary Terence Calatrava of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas lead the opening of the Alagang Tingog Center in Barangay Cambaro, Mandaue City on Saturday, July 29. Yedda Romualdez and Jude Acidre, these Alagang Tingog Centers were opened in Mandaue City, Cebu City, and Lapu-Lapu City. “This is to fulfill our promise that if we are given a seat in the Congress, and now we have two seats, we will bring our services closer to the people,” said Acidre. Acidre said Tingog party-list has already opened 73 satellite offices across the country. “Our goal is to open 100 centers in the country. Aside from infrastructure projects and social services, our priority legislation is continuing. We want to try to make sure that the programs, solutions that we want to extend to the people are in order, stable, and balanced,” said Acidre. The opening of the Alagang Tingog Center in Barangay Cambaro, Mandaue was graced by Mandaue Rep. Lolypop Ouano-Dizon. “I want to thank the Tingog party-list Representatives, Cong. Yedda Romualdez and Cong. Jude Acidre, as well as the support of Speaker Martin Romualdez, in the establishment of the Alagang Tingog Center, in Mandaue City for there are now more offices that could facilitate the assistance to Mandauehanons,” said Dizon. Also present in the opening were Mandaue Mayor Jonas Cortes, Board Member Thadeo Jonkie Ouano, and Undersecretary Terence Calatrava, chief of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas. After opening the Tingog satellite office, Romualdez, Acidre, Dizon, and Calatrava led the distribution of cash assistance totaling close to P6 million to 1,100 Mandaue residents. Barangay captains and officials from 27 barangays in Mandaue were present when the beneficiaries received P5,000 each. The cash assistance distribution was in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Central Visayas as part of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program. From Mandaue, Tingog party-list officials proceeded to Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City where another satellite office was opened. Cash assistance distribution was also distributed to at least 1,000 beneficiaries at the Guadalupe Barangay Hall. Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama and Cebu City Rep. Edu Rama were on hand during the distribution of P5,000 cash assistance to AICS beneficiaries. Appliances and brand-new motorcycles were among the prizes that were raffled off during the distribution of cash assistance.
