According to the police, authorities acted on a tip received from a barangay information network (BIN) agent about a man carrying a firearm.

The arresting officers allegedly saw Kasim brandishing a gun.

The suspect failed to present documents for the firearm, prompting the police to arrest him.

During the arrest and search, the police confiscated a .45-caliber pistol with serial number 519362 loaded with one live ammunition, one magazine loaded with three pieces of live ammunition and a hand grenade found in a black bag.

Kasim was arrested for violations of Republic Act 10591 (illegal possession of firearms and ammunition), and Republic Act 9516 (illegal possession of explosives).

Charges will be filed against the suspect who is detained at the station custodial facility of the Taguig City Police Station.
