BIR warns public vs fake job offers on social media for high school graduates

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has warned the public on the proliferation of fake job advertisements circulating on social media platforms, particularly Facebook and TikTok as it noted the recent surge of offers of high-paying jobs within the agency for high school graduates.

BIR Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui, Jr.  advised job seekers to exercise caution and verify information from official sources to avoid falling victim to scams and deceitful practices.

Lumagui also ordered an investigation into the origin of what he describes as deceptive job offers and to hold them accountable.

He stressed the importance of relying solely on the bureau's official channels of information when seeking employment opportunities with the BIR.

For the legitimate list of job vacancies and their respective requirements, job seekers can refer to the BIR's official website at https://www.bir.gov.ph/index.php/vacant-positions.html or the BIR official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/birgovph.

By accessing these authentic sources, Lumagui assured job seekers that they can safeguard themselves from falling prey to scams and ensure a legitimate job application process.
